God Is Love

The sermon series over the last 2 weeks has been Love is Here. I love this title because not only is it a great reminder for remembering Christ being born but it's a reminder that Christ is always with us and we must share that love with others.

This past Sunday as I had a chance to sit in the service, I was actually brought to tears as I listened and observed our Graystone family singing about God's love - specifically one of our own Graystone Kids. Dustin's, our youth pastor, son was in the service to hear his mom sing How He Loves Me. The chorus has these words:

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us...

The little 3 year old stood beside me and sang with all his heart about how much Jesus loves us, him, you, me...We do our best at Graystone to teach about how much God loves each of us. But, it's also so important to teach about God's love at home. I'm sure Dustin and Erin have been singing about How Much God Loves them. Family is so important. I pray this Christmas season is a time for your family to reflect about how much God loves you!

An exciting new building

This Sunday will be our first service in our new building. When I joined Graystone, my husband and I joined, not because of the incredible music, speaking, and modern twist (though that is just an added bonus) but we could see and feel God moving. I knew I wanted to be a part of what God was doing and how He will impact this community with the love of Christ.

There has been so much work, prayers and anxiety leading up to this Sunday. However, what I'm most excited about is watching the children as they see this new facility for the first time on Sunday. Their excitement and love of their church should refuel us all as we strive to serve our Savior! Stop by the children's wing on Sunday, it's going to be fun!

It's Packing Day!

Today is packing day at Graystone! We are preparing to be in our new building and will be ready to have service on December 6th! I'm so excited about the new church. Please pray with me that it will be a place that our children will come to know Jesus as their Savior!

Summer in Fall

I've been thinking about how much fun summer will be on the new playground. We are close to finalizing plans. It's going to be awesome and I'm so amazed at how good God is! This will provide entertainment for so many children, in addition it will be a place for parents to fellowship with each other!

Do you know what else happens during the Summer - Children's Camp! This year we will be going to Centri-Kid at Toccoa Falls. Register now to reserve a spot! The deadline for a $50 deposit is January 24th. We are scheduled to go July 5-9! Let me know if you have any questions.

It's great to be at Graystone

I'm so blessed to be at Graystone and share life with all of you! I'm excited about the future of our Children's ministry. We had over 50 3,4 and 5 year olds last Sunday. Wow! God is good.

Extra Hour of Sleep

Today always marks an interesting day as we get an extra hour of sleep, but our schedules have to adjust. I wonder how many forgot and came early to church this morning! Last week we had speaking part auditions for the Christmas Musical for SuperKids and All Stars. Today, after the 11:00 service, we will have auditions for solos. This is going to be a fun musical!

It's Fall

I love the Fall weather. I enjoyed hanging out at Bay Creek watching kids play baseball and softball. It's the season of pumpkins and beautiful leaves changing colors! It's just refreshing to me!

Sunday night, we will have our last small group. Children are supposed to wear their halloween costumes for a little Fall Fun! Auditions for speaking parts were also today and auditions for solos is next week after the 11:00 service.

Christmas is in the Air

I know we have several holidays before we get to Christmas, but I have to say that children singing Christmas songs is one of my favorite things about Christmas. To hear the innocent voices singing about the birth of our Savior is just moving and wonderful! Today we started practicing for the Christmas musical. Auditions for speaking parts will be October 25th from 10-10:30 and auditions for solos will be November 1st after the 11:00 service.

It was also fun to celebrate the past 5 years of Graystone! God is doing amazing things in our church and Children's Ministry. I'm excited to be a part of it!

October 4 at Graystone

I can't believe it's October. The weather has been beautiful and I hope your children have enjoyed playing outside. I was at Baycreek Park this week and noticed all the kids coming to practice!

This month at Graystone is going to be extremely busy as we are preparing to move into the new building. Just a reminder the Baptism Class will be October 18. Please let me know if your child plans on attending.

Summer Highlights

We are having a great time here at Graystone Church over the summer. We have had 2 Terrific Tuesdays at Bethesda Water Park and Grayson Park. This Tuesday we will have a movie day in the All Stars room. We have also started our Children's Small Group again on Wednesday nights. We are going through the bible and learning about the courageous bible heroes.
Each Sunday all of our classes have exciting lessons and we are so thankful for the volunteers that teach and love the kids each week.

Children's Small Group

I am so excited about starting our first Children's Small Group on February 8th. This is for children in 2nd - 5th grade. We will have bible study together and then "serve" Graystone in various ways. I have asked the staff to let me know some of the things that are needed around Graystone. We have had some suggestions: Jim needs help with picking up the auditorium and taking the trash out of all of the nursery rooms. The children can write cards to those in the church that are sick or bereaved. Some children will learn how to lead worship for the various classes. We already have 12 kids signed up! Let me know if you have any questions or if you want to sign your child up.
